Swettenham (Swettenham)

  • Swettenham was a township in Swettenham Parish, Northwich Hundred (SJ 8068), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • In 1936 the whole of Kermincham was added to Swettenham.
  • The population of Swettenham was 237 in 1801, 200 in 1851, 186 in 1901, and 321 in 1951.

  • Swettenham, St. Peter (C of E). An ancient parish church, originally servsing the townships of Kermincham and Swettenham. Extended 1880 to include Davenport. Registers of Baptisms 1570–1890, Marriages 1570–1835 and Burials 1570–1881 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
