  • Stoke (or Stoak) was a township in Stoak Parish, Wirral Hundred (SJ 4173), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • The population was 120 in 1801, 93 in 1851, 67 in 1901, and 74 in 1951.

  • Stoak, St. Lawrence (C of E). An ancient parish church, originally serving the townships of Great Stanney, Little Stanney, Stoke (near Chester) and part of Whitby. Registers of Baptisms 1573–1925, Marriages 1573–1993 and Burials 1573–1889 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
