Marston (Great Budworth)

  • Marston was a township in Great Budworth Parish, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 6776), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • The population was 284 in 1801, 559 in 1851, 878 in 1901, and 729 in 1951.

  • Marston, St. Paul (C of E). Founded 1874 as a chapel to Great Budworth, becoming the parish church for Marston and part of Wincham in 1875; closed in 1965. Registers of Baptisms 1874–1965, Marriages 1875–1964 and Burials 1875–1931 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
