Ince

  • Ince was a township and parish in Eddisbury Hundred (SJ 5362), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • In 1950 the whole of Ince was added to Ellesmere Port.
  • The population was 443 in 1801, 422 in 1851, and 290 in 1901.

  • Ince, St. James the Great (C of E). The ancient parish church for the township of Ince. Registers of Baptisms 1687–1786 & 1813–1870, Marriages 1687–1837, and Burials 1687–1786 & 1813–1912 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office, where Bishop's Transcripts date from 1600.
