Great Neston (Neston)

  • Great Neston was a township in Neston Parish, Wirral Hundred (SJ 2877), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • In 1894 the whole of Great Neston was added to Neston cum Parkgate civil parish.
  • Including the hamlets of Clayhill, Hinderton, Moorside and part of Parkgate.
  • The population was 1486 in 1801, 1524 in 1851, and 2201 in 1901.
