Agden (Bowdon and Rostherne)

  • Agden was a township in the ancient parishes of Bowdon and Rostherne, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 7186), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • Including the hamlet of Agden Brow.
  • The population was 85 in 1801, 73 in 1851, 115 in 1901, and 79 in 1951.
