Acton Grange (Runcorn)

  • Acton Grange was a township in Daresbury chapelry of Runcorn Parish, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 5884), which became a civil parish in 1866.
  • In 1933 the area north of the Manchester Ship Canal was transferred to Penketh [Lancashire].
  • In 1936 the remainder of Acton Grange was added to Walton.
  • The population was 139 in 1801, 172 in 1851, and 145 in 1901.
